We're told that these cars somehow convert your speech into energy that powers the car. Sound more like magic - or at least imagination - than science? Tempting to think maybe the talking is just a timing mechanism to give the illusion that speech powers the car, especially since the car does require a battery. The Toy Fair demonstrator assured me this wasn't the case and that there really is some kind of science thing going on. In any case, real or not, the idea that speech powers the car is certainly something to inspire some fun adventures and I expect kids will have fun with the toy - at least for awhile. There are also lots of opportunities for creative families to extend play. If you have two kids and two cars, challenge them to a battle of words.
