Popular with our testers, this donimo style game is different enough from the classic version that it's almost a new game. And, the bug-shaped game pieces with comical facial expressions are a lot more fun to play with than traditional dominoes. Like the classic game, the idea is to get rid of your dominos. But with six legs each, the bugs have more match spots than a retangular domino. And, in this game it's notjust the bugs you play that reduce your hand, there are also bonuses for making extra matches: the more legs you match, the more bugs you can discard. We like the little red flag that sits on the last bug played to remind the next player that at least one of the six legs on the next bug played must touch one or more of its legs. The game is easily adapted for younger players by letting them ignore the flag and add their matching leg(s) to any bug in play.
I like all the funny faces on the pieces! It’s hard to play with the rule that you have to have a match on every leg and I would rather start with more pieces so the game could go on for longer because sometimes the game is too short. It’s a very fun game! - Matana (F9)
A fun domino game that appeals to both my younger and older kids. IT takes more thought than regular donimoes, but the younger kids still have the ability to play it. My kids (M6, M7, F9) all play together and get a kick out of the faces on the bugs. Though I like the idea of forcing you to match the “Bug Scout”, I think for younger kids, it would be easier to play without it, so that they can match to any bug on the board. It was interesting that the more legs you match, the better off you are – one match means you need to pick up another tile, whereas 3 matches means you can drop a tile. – Rebecca Young
