Review

The first thing to note is that this is not a toy itself - several of our testing parent took a quick look and thought it was an iPhone-styled electronic toy. Once they discovered that it needed a real iPhone inside it, they were less enthusiastic to test it. In fact, we had some difficulty finding families willing to try it out. There are a number of baby apps you can download that are targeted to these littest of users, and it's not that the babies aren't interested. On the contrary, ANY cell phone is a baby magnet. But as one dad put it, the last thing he wanted to do is encourage even more interest. But if your baby is spending a lot of time handling your iPhone, this rubbery case will certainly help protext it. Parents of older kids told us that they'd love to see an appealing, easy-to-use protective case for the preschooler crowd.

Tester Feedback

Sturdy easy grip handles for both babies and preschoolers. My 7 month old girl and 3 year old boy could both easily handle the toy. And surprisingly, you can actually use the phone while its in the case. I didn't think this would be an option with the microphone and earphones covered. My daughter (age 7 months) really liked the mirror on the back. She spent more time looking in the mirror than playing with the phone.

Negatives:

1. It's too hard to get the phone in and out of the case. I see that they are trying prevent unintended opening from the kids, but if I am out in public and need to get out the phone, I cannot remove it unless I have a butter knife or screw driver.

2. There's no access to the volume control which means you have to take it out of the case to adjust. Also the microphone and earphone compartments are not accessible.

3. I don't like they way they protected the home button. The iphone already has a built-in airplane mode which I switch the phone setting over to before giving my kids the phone, so its just a nuisance since you can't easily operate the rest of the phone while it's in there.

4. It is so large it's hard to use when you are out and about. It doesn't fit in your purse or even a diaper bag very easily.
