Quite a versatile doll, its as much fun out of water as in the bath. In fact the talk box is best enjoyed during "dry" play, as the sounds enhance pretend bath play. But the doll is well-designed to go in the bath, too: the talk box is sealed and water-tight so it can be submerged in water. However, the sound isn't loud enough to be heard over splashing and water play. But our testers didn't miss the voice at all - the real attraction was the doll itself. Several parents removed the talk box outright, making a lighter doll for the bath. And the hollow body cavity is a perfect size to slip in a bar of soap to make sudsing up a special treat. This fabric-bodied doll also makes a great companion in the wading pool. And, on those extra hot days, you can remove the talk box and fill the doll with ice cubes to help your little one cool off a bit. Parents love that the doll is machine washable!
This baby is constantly being played with. Hailee (F3) likes to take babies into the bath and the fact that this baby is wearing a bathing suit and is meant to be in the water makes her even more fun. This baby has been in the bath, shower and the swimming pool. The girls think it is great that she floats. Hailee waits for her to dry and then takes her to bed. It is a nice feature that this doll can be squeezed and dries fairly quickly. Hailee loves the noises she makes...they make her laugh. This baby is great quality....she seems indestructible. The doll is a great bath time buddy. It really helped my daughter to understand that I was washing her hair, not just pouring water in her face! It is enhancing imagination play for my daughter and she gets a lot of fun out of it. The doll is durable and dries quickly, but the sound box is not loud enough to hear when playing in the bath, so we ended up just removing it from the doll because after each bath it had to be removed to wring out the doll and replaced.
