Our testers really enjoyed this well designed science kit - they had fun, and they learned a thing or two. The glow-in-the-dark aspect just added to the excitement. There are a few ingredients that you need to provide (eg. Borax and allum), and parents noted these were things they didn't normally keep in the house. So be prepared for an errand and a little extra cost. But overall, this is a very worthwhile activity.
This is the best science experiment kit I have ever had because everything acutally works - even the glow lotion and invisible writer. The bouncy balls are different from the usual bouncy balls - a little soft and you can see and feel the seam more than the regular ones, but it bounces just the same. Cracking the glow sticks is not really an experiment like the others and I've have had lots of these glow sticks before, but never knew the science behind how they glow. Andrew (M9)
All of the experiments are easy to make, and there's a lot of them. There's a few ingredients I needed to buy, but it was worth it. Victoria (F8) was able to follow the instructions and do the experiments on her own. She enjoyed each one. I like how the book explains in simple terms how each experiment works.
