Book One:The Medusa Plot by Gordon Korman (Available August 30, 2011)
Fans of the original series can continue their armchair globe-trotting in search of more clues, this time in the Medusa painting by Caravaggio, which they are instructed to steal from the Uffizi gallery in Florence as ransom for their captured friends. And, of course, the search doesn’t end there – either in this book, or in the books to follow. Each book is written by a different well-known children’s author, this first by Gordon Korman. And as in the original books, readers are introduced to a variety of historical artifacts, events and people. But this is definitely more fun than history class. Each book includes six game cards with codes to unlock an online mission. The website is a huge labyrinth of information to read and puzzle through – lots to keep inquisitive, mystery-loving minds entertained. So whether you’re a fan looking for more clues, or encountering The 39 Clues for the first time, Book 1: The Medussa Plot, is a great place to start. Book 2: A King's Ransom by Jude Watcon, wil be available December 6th, 2011.
