


Unlike most Monopoly editions, this version is more than just a new theme. For the first time ever, it offers a genuinely interesting new twist on gameplay - and it deserves special cudos just for that. The outer track on the board has all the usual properties (with new names for this edition). What's different is that each property also has it's own "district" area that expands into the centre of the board. Instead of houses and hotels, there are a variety of cool new buildings. The growing "city" of buildings in the centre adds an intriguing look to the game, although like the original plastic buildings they are easily knocked out of place. Unfortunately, the stability issue is an even bigger problem in this version because there are more buildings and some are quite tallish and quick to topple. Ultimately it becomes a trade-off between the added strategy dimension this game offers, and putting up with the clumsy buildings. For many the trade-off is worth it. Monopoly fans like...
