As one tester notes, the greatest thing about this polish, is also the most disapointing: the polish is easily removed with only water. While our kid tseters were thrilled with the polish, the fact that it came off in the evening bath had most of them unwilling to sit through the fairly lengthly application process a second time.
However, it is still the best kiddi polish we've seen. Despite the allure, cosmetics can be one of the worst sources of harmful toxins. So we applaud that Suncoat offers a kiddi-SAFE alternative. And while it may try a child's patience, the product itself is quite excellent.
As long as you apply a thin coat, it dries reasonably quickly. It's quite liquidy though, so you'll need to follow the manufacturer's recommendation to apply 2-3 coats to get a nice solid colour. Once dry, it has a very nice finish - not all all like the rubbery kiddi polished popular in the 1990s. This one feels quite natural - in fact not much different than your unpolished nail. And it's quite durable. We like the fact it doesn't chip as easily as some enamelled polishes, so it stays looking nice while its on, and three are fewer worries about your child ingesting small flakes of chipped polish. And of course, it's super easy to remove - just soak it in warm water a few minutes and it peels off in one piece. Despite our testers' protests, it's not really so water sensitive than you can't wash your hands (especially if you do a quick wash and use cold water), but it will come off in the evening bath.
The only real downside is the cost - a lot more than what you'd pay for drug store polish. On the other hand, with all the concern about toxins in children's products, do you really want your child up close and personal with the stuff found in adult polishes? This one is super safe and toxin-free - definitely worth a few dollars.
