What we liked best about Pirate code is that it uses the same deductive reasoning process as the classic Mastermind game, but allows for more than two players to play. The physical set up of the game is also way cooler. For starters, there's a treasure chest chock full of plastic gems (12 each of 6 different colours). The gems are passed around at the start of a round, and each player secretly selects four gems to make their own pirate code. And, where do you hide your coded gems? On a slide out drawer in your own pad-locked treasure chest. Building these very cool treasure chests is by far the highlight when physically assembling the game. You can still play the two-player version which works much like the classic, but for a change of pace, this game also allows for three and four player games. On each turn, players are given two guesses. The die determines one of the colours you'll guess; you pick the second, to give the game an interesting mix of luck and strategy. The pirate...
