KIDS:

It is a little bit like Jenga because it is fun like that where something is going to fall over. The catapult is really good. It is even fun when you're not playing the game. I liked building the towers and each card was different. I think we have played four times so probably I have built every tower but I would still play again. Sometimes the catapult misses so it is not a for sure thing your tower will fall down, that is what makes it more fun. Even though I am the oldest kid playing I did not win every time. The only bad thing is that M7 didn't like playing with us because he got mad when we tried to catapult his tower but that is the whole point of the game so I guess he should just not play. Every other kid thought it was fun so that was just one kid so I still think it is good. Gram (M10)

I like Kaboom because when other people are building a tower, you can smash all their towers down. Ezra (M8)

I like that you can knock down all the builder's towers at the last second. You can whack the catapult and see how far the dice can go! Shalom (M11)

ADULTS:

This is a very fun game IF (very big IF) you have the right mix of kids playing it. We played with M7, M8, M8, and M10. All the kids loved using the catapult, but occasionally gt oupset when their tower was knocked down. There was a wee bit of math involved in this game (shhh! I don't think they noticed!) Play seemed to stop when one player had streaks of bad luck - with four players we seemed to have more fun by making them play as teams of two, eliminating anyone feeling sad their tower was destroyed! It became a more fun battle of two against two and great cooperation with each team building their tower. M8 and M10 have played a few times on their own or with an adult, and enjoyed it. I don't think it would be a game they would pull out frequently long term. Their friend M7 got somewhat frustrated to complete a tower and then have it targeted by the catapult but EVERY kid enjoyed using the catapult. Each game seemed to end with 20 minutes of randomly building things and shooting them down. Jennifer Fraser

The boys (M12, M11, M8) enjoy smashing the towers down and trying to build as many towers as possible. They like the catapult part of it best. It's designed well, except that the way it shows to place the tiles doesn't make a lot of sense since you'll always want to build the towers the furthest away from the catapult. While they enjoy it, I don't expect the interest to last as they enjoy catapulting the dice more than they do building any of the towers. Rebecca Young
