KIDS:

There's the letter! I found B with Elmo! I like Oscar hiding in the garbage can, the spinnning wheel and the spinning blue castle. [all the parts that move], but I don't like that it doesn't make any noise. It has all the letters hiding all over it and only Elmo can find them. I like that Elmo has a magnifying glass. Robert (M3)

ADULTS:

My son (35m) can easily hold the red lens up to find the hidden letters. The frustrating part of playing with this toy for him is that he can look and find the letters, but when he doesn't know what letter he's found he needs to ask someone each time. With the letters he knows, he's very excited to say "I found A" etc. It's great and he likes it if I am playing with him and can help him with the names of the letters, as he is still learning. After a few weeks now, I still notice him getting Elmo and the house and he sits quietly saying all the letters that he finds. It's a simple toy, but it seems to create a hands on learning experience that my son enjoys. After a few weeks now, I still notice him getting Elmo and the house and he sits quietly saying all the letters that he finds. It's a simple toy, but it seems to create a hands on learning experience that my son enjoys. He is definitely becoming better at naming the letters of the alphabet. It's a skill we've been working on more lately, so this playset has definitely help. A great playset that's perfect right now for my 3 year old son, as he knows most of the letters, but is still trying to sort out some them. My son (2.5 years) never really played with this much. He used the Elmo for imaginative play separately from the rest of the set, but that was it. To be fair, he has very little experience with the characters (he doesn't watch Sesame Street, although he does have a Big Bird doll that he adores). It was interesting to me that he enjoyed this one more than the 123s with Cookie Monster--but this set has a Big Bird picture, which may have increased his interest level. He liked looking for the letters for a few minutes and then lost interest. My son (2.5 years) found it difficult to hold the magnifying glass up to see the letters properly. If I held it for him, he could see the letters, but he really struggled to find them for himself. It's possible that he could overcome these difficulties with time, but I don't think he's inclined to try. When I held it for him, he was initially interested to look, but that's about it. I'm not sure if his fine motor skills are good enough to do this. But he really enjoyed opening and closing the green doors. My son's favorite thing about this toy was the character of Elmo--but he wanted to play with Elmo by putting him in his trains or cars, not with this set. I liked that you could connect this toy with the other similar toys to form a whole long row. Marcy Jefferson

I was very excited to test this toy because my kids all enjoy Sesame Street. However, F3 showed very little interest in it. The only thing F3 seems interested in is the Elmo doll that comes with it. She likes to hold this red lens up to her eye. Or she will use it with other dolls to play elsewhere with it. She did not understand the idea of holding Elmo's red lens up to the circles to find the letters of the alphabet. There are things to manipulate on the playset (water tower to turn, spinning wheel, doors to open, Oscar to pop up and I showed F3 how to do these things but she again showed little interest. The playset seems too shallow in size compared to other playsets so it was not very inviting for F3. We did connect it to the SESAME STREET DISCOVER 123S WITH COOKIE MONSTER PLAYSET which made it a little more interesting, but again the interest dwindled quickly. Sandra Wong
